The Portland Pirates ARRRRRR helping charity!
Like hockey? Of course you do! The Portland Pirates have many home games this January at the Cumberland County Civic Center and each has a theme which benefits others.
Friday January 7th, at 7pm, check out their game against the Springfield Falcons. Camp Bow Wow presents Adopt-a-Dog Night. Almost Home Rescue will have dogs at the game for fans to adopt. Also, donate either a dog toy or a dog or cat food item and receive two free tickets to a future Pirates game. All donations and proceeds from dedicated ticket sales will go to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, the Animal Welfare Society of Kennebunk, the Planet Dog Foundation, and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation. The first 1,500 fans will receive thundersticks, courtesy of Goodwill, and all fans who make a donation to Goodwill will receive two free tickets to a future Pirates game.
Saturday January 8th,at 7pm, the pirates play against the Manchester Monarchs to help fight Cystic Fibrosis. The Pirates will be raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Northern New England. Fans are encouraged to head to Shawnee Peak (just 20 minutes from Festiva’s Rangeley Lakes Resort!) on Sunday, January 9th, in the afternoon and redeem their ticket from this game for a $20 dollar lift ticket.
