Geo Caching
Geocaching is the perfect family activity for the beautiful Maine spring weather. When money is tight and the little ones look like they are bored, going out for a hike and looking for buried treasure is a fun way to pass the time. It is a wonderful way to incorporated exercise and family fun into your weekend. Even though the caches may not be what you would like, you will find this to be exhilarating for all ages.

Rock Climbing!

Enjoy a fun filled day at the Maine Aquarium!

At the Maine Aquarium you will be sure to experience a great day full of ducks, penguins, seals, lobsters, grouper, venomous fish, sharks and colorful reef communities. The best time to visit is in the summer when you can watch the sharks while relaxing with some food and drinks at the snack bar.
The aquarium is open daily from 9am-5pm, year round. The only days they close are Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their banquet room is even available for rent for those special occasions. If you would like to feed some of the animals, that is even a possibility! Harbor Seals are fed at 11am, 1:30pm and 3pm. Penguins are fed at 10am and 2pm. The fish, sharks and sea turtles are fed continuously. The aquarium is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers; it is air conditioned and has picnic tables on the grounds as well as free parking.
General admission for the aquarium is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for seniors ages 62 and older, $4.50 for students ages 5-12, $2.50 for ages 2-4 and babies under 2 are free! There is also a discount for AAA members. They also have discounted rates for field trips! Groups of 10 or more costs just $2.50 per student for grades K-12 and one teacher is admitted free of charge for every 10 students. Additional teachers are just $3.50 per person.
Members are entitled to unlimited visits during regular business hours for a year. As a member you would also receive a 10% discount on items at the gift shop, a 10% discount of food at their Forty Fathoms Café, a discount towards selected whale watch cruises and $50 off the rental charge for use of their banquet room.

The 9th annual New England Home and Garden Show will take place at the Fryeberg Fairgrounds this weekend. The show will begin at 11 am Friday, May 14, and will go through Sunday, May 16th. Golfing in Rangeley, Maine

Mingo Springs is an 18 hole course and is perched on a hill that overlooks Rangeley Lake and Saddleback Mountain. Bug Light!
In South Portland, Maine, there is a walking trail that hugs the shoreline and the beautiful coast of southern Maine. The complete trail is a total of six miles and while you travel down it, you are likely to run into joggers, runners, people walking dogs, and families hand in hand. Along the trail there are houses snug in their backyard gardens, trees that canopy over you as you walk, paths near the water, and fields of green, lush grass that is perfect for a picnic and a rest stop. You don’t need to go the entire six miles either, you can turn around and just walk back the way you came if you want!
