The Bangor YMCA is having their Spring Fair!
Don’t miss this weekend of entertainment at the Bangor Auditorium for the Bangor YMCA’s Spring Fair going on from March 26th through March 28th. Friday’s hours are 11am-8pm, Saturday’s hours are from 10am-8pm and Sunday’s hours are from 10am-4pm. Discounted prices are offered before March 25th which is $2 for those over 13 and seniors. At the door the fee will be $5 for those over 13 and seniors, $3 for children under 13 and children under 1 are free.
The event will consist of carnival rides, games, face painting, food and so much more! On Friday and Saturday from 4pm-8pm they offer unlimited rides for just $12. All of the proceeds will benefit the “Supporting Our Community Campaign.” This is being sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank, Oxford Networks, Bangor Daily News and more!

Bath Blarney Days
Maine loves St Patrick’s Day and the cities and towns know how to celebrate it in style! Bath Blarney Days lasts from March 11th to the 17th. Some of the numerous events that take place include a lecture on some Irish history, a March Irish Madness Moonlight sale, a 5k Shamrock Sprint, a St Patrick’s Day parade, a tug of war, bagpipers, and so much more. Everyone is Irish today!
This week is a great week to be in Portland because there is a lot of celebrating going on for St. Patty’s Day. The Old Port is the place to be on Wednesday, March 17, with several local businesses hosting special events. If you are going to be in the Old Port, here are a few places you should check out.

On the water
As the warm weather starts to approach us in Maine, the handfuls of lakes and rivers will be beckoning. Canoeing and Kayaking is a fantastic activity for you and your family because you can choose from rapid water to a leisure drift down a river current.

Dancing in all Seasons
Maplewood Dance Center in Portland, Maine, is a sure way to keep you busy on your feet during any season. They give lessons on any style of dancing that you can imagine including Ballroom, Waltz, Cha Cha, Salsa, Swing, Tango, Foxtrot and more. Maple Weekend is back
Harris Farm is once again hosting their annual Maine Maple Festival and it will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 27th and 28th from 8am-2pm. This fun event always takes place during the fourth weekend of March and it includes a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
If you’ve never been there, then maybe this will be a good weekend for you to give it a chance. You will get to tour the operation of maple syrup and they will even let you sample some of it right from the boiler. I’m sure you will enjoy their all you can eat pancake breakfast in the sun room after getting a sample of that yummy syrup. Of course the breakfast will include their own homemade pancakes, sausage, syrup, butter and even milk.
This event will be a great experience for children and adults eager to learn about the syrup-making process. You will also get to take a hay or sleigh ride around the farm. There is a small fee for breakfast and the ride. Harris Farm is located in Dayton which is only about a half an hour from Portland. For more information, give them a call at 207-499-2678.
Harris Farm began in 1944 during World War II. John Harris started it all and since then there have been three generations of the Harris Family farming there. They have been supplying their own milk in glass bottles since 1996 after making a commitment to the environment. You can also purchase beef and vegetables right from the farm as well.

Spring Fling Beach Party
Shawnee Peak is having their end of season celebration which will mark a quarter of a century for them! Tons of people will be coming together to celebrate on Saturday, March 20th from 10am-5pm. The event will include riding, live entertainment, a barbecue and lots of laughs. As always, you can expect WHEB 100.3 FM to be in the Blizzard’s Pub with tons of promotions. There will also be a new event taking place this year which is the snow volleyball tournament.
The Slush Cup will start at 1:30pm and it will put skiers and snowboarders on a 60 foot long pond of ice. The goal is to skim along as far as you can go before you fall! Registration is free at the base lodge from 10am-11:30am. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and they will also have to sign some liability paperwork. Snow volleyball teams can also register at this point as well.
There will be $1 per minute chair massages at 11am and they will be located on the first floor of the Base Lodge. You can also call Gayle Miller in advance to make an appointment at 207-319-5527. You can enjoy burgers, hot dogs and all the other usual barbecue food next to the Great Room from 11:30am-1:00pm. If you’re a fan of reggae you can enjoy some music in Blizzard’s Pub from 12:00-1:30pm and then from 2:30-5:00pm! Don’t forget about the snow volleyball tournament in the SnowSports School meeting area at 2:30pm. And of course the ski party in Blizzard’s Pub with Harpoon Brewery and WHEB will be from 4:00-6:00pm!

Have some laughs at Bonny Eagle High School!
Comedian Bob Marley will be performing at Bonny Eagle High School in Standish, on March 11th at 7pm. He is known as Maine’s King of Comedy and is originally from Portland, Maine, so this performance should be a real treat! He currently has a weekly radio call-in segment that he does with a few different radio stations called The World According to Bob.
Tomorrow night’s performance will benefit the students of Bonny Eagle Drama who plan on making a summer trip to the International Thespian Festival in Nebraska. Over 3,000 students from all around the world will be congregating there. Tickets for the comedy show will be available at the high school, at Low’s Variety Bonny Eagle, at Kosmetikos Spa in Standish and at Sun Salutations Yoga as well as online. Spring is in the air
