Let it snow!
The forecast shows nothing but snow in sight for the next few days which is a good thing for some people and a bad thing for other people. If you like to ski or snowboard, Lost Valley in Auburn is the place for you! Lost Valley was the first in Maine to make artificial snow but I’m not sure how much of the fake stuff they’ll need with all this real snow that we are getting bulldozed with!
Lost Valley offers two chair lifts with 15 different trails to choose from such as Squirrel Run, Bull Moose, Alpine East and more. There is also self operated electronic timing available to practice your racing. The lifts are open from 2:00pm-8:30pm Monday-Thursday. Friday operating hours are 10:00am-9:00pm. On Saturdays they are open from 9:00am-9:00pm and on Sunday’s they are open from 10:00am-5:00pm. They have several different ticket combinations for your convenience.

Need A Laugh?

Lobster Dip 2010 is quickly approaching!
If you have no plans for New Years Day yet you might want to think about taking part in The 22nd Annual Lobster Dip for the Special Olympics! It will be taking place at Old Orchard Beach in front of the Brunswick Hotel/Oceanside Grille at noon. If you would like a registration packet, feel free to call 207-879-0489. Why not get a head start on pledges?
There will be a post dip party at the Ocean Side Grille immediately following the dip. It will include live music and complimentary food and beverages for those of you dipping and one guest each. A cash bar will be available as well. In order to participate, each dipper is asked to raise at least $100 There will be incentives and different levels of fundraising for individual participants as well as a grand prize for the top fundraising team. Costumes are encouraged!
If you are too scared to be a dipper, they offer a chicken dip! The way it works is you still raise money but instead of jumping in the ocean, you enjoy yourself by a warm fire in their chicken coop! For some additional excitement, feel free to dress like a chicken!

Partying for the end of 2009!

Tips for your Holiday Party!
It’s hard to believe that it’s Christmas Eve already! I’m sure there will be a lot of get-togethers taking place throughout tonight and tomorrow so here are some tips from meliving.com and Festiva Resorts to help with your party preparation.
Always plan ahead by making lists. It’s so much easier to forget something if you don’t write it down, especially with all that you will need to remember to plan your party. If you plan your meal far enough in advance you can even be on the lookout for some coupons to help you save money on all those goodies. Organization is definitely one of the key factors to a successful party!
Set a theme by picking out hors d’oeuvres that complement each other. Then you can even have a theme for each table or room in the house. A good rule to keep in mind when figuring out how much food you’ll need is to allow 4 to 6 hot hors d’oeuvres per person. Don’t serve messy foods if you will be worried about your rugs or furniture because then you will be too stressed to enjoy yourself.
With today’s technology, not too many people go with the traditional written invitations anymore but it’s a creative idea. Some of the information to include in your invitation is the date, the time, location, parking availability/options and the type of attire.
You can make your party more festive with some Christmas decorations, music and scents. Keep your television off and turn on soft music in the background to avoid having your guests huddled around the television instead of talking. Make things even more special by replacing some of the bulbs in your house with colored lamps or even strobe lights.

Rangelely Snodeo 2010
