Bull in the heart of Portland
Bull Feeney’s is an excellent place to eat in the Old Port. It’s kid friendly too so the whole family can go enjoy a meal during the hours of 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. There is live music and great food in the heart of Portland. What more can you ask for?
Bull Feeney’s got it’s name from the founder’s son. He was a successful football champion and his nickname became “Bull.” He earned it because he would lower his helmet like a bull and charge through the lines. John was born in Ireland in 1854. In 1878 he moved to Portland, Maine, and opened a grocery store that posed as a front for a saloon. His saloons were gatherings where he would greet new immigrants, help them settle, register them for citizens and acquire a job.
You can also host your next gathering at Bull Feeney’s for 10-170 people. There are four fireplaces to stay cozy and five themed rooms. They have food from seafood to steaks and soups. Don’t hesitate to go try it out, it’s an awesome experience. It’s on 375 Fore St in Portland, Maine. Don’t forget to call (207)-773-7210.

Fall and Foliage
Unfortunately summer is ending here in southern Maine. The upside to the hot beach weather moving south is that the cool fall weather is moving in. So unpack those comfy sweaters and scarfs and get ready to enjoy one of the most beautiful seasons in Maine.
This summer, if you can call it that, was filled with rain. 22.31 inches of rainfall hit Maine in June, July and August this year. All that rain made for a less than ideal summer but will bring a beautiful fall. The leaf bearing trees are full and lush, and the color changing is going to be vibrant and beautiful.
A great way to enjoy the fall foliage is to travel the state by bus or train. There are many different options for you to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of Maine. To find a tour that’s right for you visit any of these web sites:

A Local Dairy Corner
In Scarborough, Maine, there is a little ice cream place that is nestled on a corner of an intersection. It is about ten minutes away from Pine Point, a beautiful beach, and a perfect place to stop at on the way back from a day of sun and sand. Even though the weather has cooled down, Dairy Corner is still open on the weekends and the choices are mind boggling for such a small place.

Flavors include cake batter, mint Oreo, moose tracks, peach ice cream and more. Choose from ice cream beverages, blizzards, ice cream sandwiches, and even ice creams for your dog!! Your pup will love a dish of vanilla soft serve with a dog bone stuck smack in the middle!

So even though fall is upon us, the beach is still beautiful and tourist-free, and the dairy corner is a fantastic place to satisfy your sweet tooth and spend some quality time with your family as well! Feel free to find out where the Dairy Corner is located or what they have to offer by calling 207-883-6936. You should also check out Festiva Resorts website at www.festivaresorts.com to learn how you can win Visa cards, mini choppers, The Landing dinner certificates, or even free lighthouse tours!!!

Scenic Seacoast Walks
Nowhere will you find a prettier coastline than in Maine, with an easily accessible walking trail. There are great views of the White Ogunquit Beach and for those of you who like to shop there is shopping at both ends of the trail. Experienced hikers usually say that Marginal Way, with its neatly paved path that winds along the rocky shore, is for old ladies. It is also safely fenced and has thirty benches for resting. It has a fake lighthouse at the halfway point as well.
The path leads from the downtown shopping center to Perkin’s Cove. Perkin’s Cove is an outdoor mall of jewelry, clothing, and candle boutiques. The tourists tend to disappear in the Fall, but t he beautiful ocean doesn’t. It is pleasantly less crowded after the Summer months. Parking is always free and dogs are allowed on the trail from now until March 31st.
